“Morning sleepy head.” Kamey said as she walked into our room carrying a tray with my food on it. After kissing my lips, she moved back a bit.
“Good morning baby.”
“Ew. Baby. Morning breath on full blast.”
“So.”
“SO? Go brush your teeth.”
“I will in a second. I need to eat first. If I brush before I eat then my food won’t taste the same.” Since my food was already in front of me, I didn’t see a need to brush first. Besides, that damn toothpaste was going to have my shit tasting nasty. I’d brush immediately after.
“That’s nasty.”
“No, that’s smart. Don’t act like brushing your teeth is the first thing you do every morning. I’ve smelled them dirty dishes in your kitchen.” I laughed.
“Liar.”
“You’re the liar little baby.”
“No I’m not.”
“You were nice enough to cook me breakfast, but you’re going to fuck with me the entire time I’m eating, huh?”
“No.”
“Then what’s up?”
“I kind of need some money.”
“I knew it was something. What do you need?”
“I figured out what it is that I want to do with the space that you got me.”
“What’s that?”
“I want to turn it into a breakfast bar. I only want to serve breakfast, but I also want to serve simple mixed drinks such as Mimosas and spiked orange juice.”
“That sounds like a hell of an idea.”
“I really think that I’ll do good baby. I want to call it The Drunken Egg.”
“Yeah. I think you have yourself a winner.” I admitted. Her idea was rather catchy. I had never thought of it.
“I’ll also sale little pastries infused with rum. You know like Rum cakes?”
“Yeah. Them bitches be hitting.”
“Well, I want to make those and try other pastries infused with it as well.”
“Okay. What do you need me to do? I’m on board.”
“Of course I need you to have total control over the construction. I rally like the way that Duce is set up. I want the same type of laid-back environment. Sort of like a bar slash brunch type of feel going on. I just don’t want it to be too uptight, because it will be open late at night.”
“And who’s going to run it at night because you sure as hell won’t be up there.”
“Well that’s why I planned on hiring people.”
“Oh okay.” I said as I filled my mouth with food.
“Do you like the breakfast so far?”
“Yeah. Shit hitting.”
“Good because, I’ll be using all of my own recipes.”
“That’s what’s up.”
“But, like I was saying, I need some money.”
“Okay.”
“I want to go get my business license and shop around for a color theme. I was thinking about the wooden theme like a bunch of bars. I also want a patio built in the front where they have the choice to eat outside.”
I was taking in everything that she was saying. I had the perfect idea and as soon as she got out of my face, I was going to get my construction team on it. I don’t know how I was going to keep her away from the space until then, but I was going to try my best.
